Twitter Employees File WARN Class Action alleging Twitter failed to Provide Notice Before Mass Layoffs

If you are a Twitter employee that was recently fired, you may qualify to join this class action.

Former Twitter employees such as Emmanuel Cornet have filed a class action against Twitter for allegedly violating the federal WARN Act (29 U.S.C 2101), the Violation of California WARN Act, and a declaratory judgment for failing to give its employees who it fired 60 days advance notice.

Several Twitter employees were not notified of their being fired or given any notice, rather, they were immediately blocked from their company accounts.

The lawsuit alleges that Twitter violated the WARN Act by failing to provide advanced written notice for mass layoffs for his other company Tesla.

Shortly after Elon Musk purchased Twitter, he began mass layoffs in November 2022. Additionally, it has been reported that Musk plans to shed about half of the Twitter workforce soon.

Twitter fired Emmanuel Cornet without first providing him advanced written notice as required by the WARN Act and California WARN Act, which requires 60 days written notice of mass layoffs.

This class action aims to recover severance pay and other rights under the WARN Acts, including all expenses and wages owned as well as attorney’s fees.

This case was filed on November 3, 2022 in the Northern District of California Federal courthouse.
